Beyond work

Calm on the outside.
Competitive underneath.

I am generally mellow and happiest around people who communicate directly. Underneath that, I am competitive, curious, and disciplined enough to turn almost anything into a long-running experiment.

The route so far

Five cities in four years.

Moving that often never felt like a dramatic reinvention. It was mostly exciting: new routines, new people, and another place to learn how to feel at home.

Community

Founder & president, Dominican Republic Club.

At IE University, I founded the Dominican Republic Club and served as its president. Our flagship event became the university's largest student-led diversity event, drawing more than 500 attendees and bringing people together through Dominican culture—including a salsa and bachata class.

The constants

Lift, calculate, reconsider.

The gym, chess, and markets reward different versions of the same instinct: form a theory, test it, and try not to confuse confidence with evidence.

Training

Four years under the bar.

I train for hypertrophy, mostly by feel. I like reading the studies—partly so I know exactly what I am choosing to ignore.

Chess

Anti-theory, pro-chaos.

I have played since childhood and only play ten-minute games. I hover around 1400 and peaked near 1700—usually until an opening feels too familiar, at which point I change it and donate rating points to the experiment.

Markets

A thesis first. Usually.

I actively follow and invest in stocks—mostly technology—with some cryptocurrency on the side. I like thesis formation, statistical validation, and testing what would prove an idea wrong.

The exercise tier list

A personal blend of range of motion, stretch, isolation, stability, and whether the movement requires wandering around the gym.

Why cable laterals win: range of motion, stretch, and isolation.

Why walking movements lose: I am not walking around the gym.

Why leg extensions are S+: you sit there and go at it.

How I tend to work

Serious about the work. Normal about everything else.

A recurring piece of feedback from people I have worked with is that I am easy to work with and pleasant to be around.

01

Usually unbothered

I do not tend to bring panic into the room when a project gets messy.

02

Talk it through

I would rather surface a concern and hear another perspective than let something quietly become a problem.

03

Change my mind

If the argument is good, I am happy to drop my first answer and use the better one.

04

Keep it human

Being ambitious about the outcome does not require making the process miserable.

Why AI

The work is inherited. The responsibility is ours.

Contributing to AI feels like a chance to help carry humanity’s work forward.

None of us begins from zero. We inherit medicine, science, infrastructure, and ideas from people who spent their lives pushing the boundary a little further. Their work quietly shapes what the rest of us are able to do.

I see AI as the next major step in that chain. We do not know exactly where it leads, but being born while it is still taking shape feels like a privilege—and contributing to it is one way to pay that inheritance forward.
